Its pretty apparent that a large group of tech nerds are disappointed by the iPad. I had been avidly ignoring all the hype and rumors because I always thought “I won’t need one, so it doesn’t matter.” I felt a bit disappointed in Apple for creating such a thing in the first place since people (meaning myself) were already reading books on their iPhones and iPod Touches.

I downloaded a great selection of music from the KEXP listing and hoped to listen to them on shuffle while I code at work. I dragged the tracks over into a new playlist, hit shuffle, pressed play, and smiled at my genius. The smile turned quickly to confusion when the song was over and silenced reigned. What happened? I played the next song manually and clicked the next track button and silence took over again. The play button showed and the selected track was no longer highlighted. What’s going on?
